I agree with you. Having any kind of animal is like having a child.

If she's in the process of finding it a new home SOMETIMES a vet will take it to treat it and then find it a foster family until it can be adopted

Is there an update to this situation? That dog was suffering, and I wanted to know if they ever got her some help?

If the dog is suffering, the kindest thing to do is to take her to a vet & have her euthanized. It usually costs around 50.00. I hate to hear about things like this. Does your friend live in an area where the dog would be exposed to heartworms? She could have a heavy load & they are blocking her heart. Please let us know what is going on.

So far the dog is holding her own....she actually got up and went to her food and water dishes on her own. Her nose only seems to bleed when her head gets the "jerks."

I have not talked to my friend tonight but that is the latest update as of last night. Her son has promised to come over and see his dog..despite the fact that he has basically abandoned her, she gets all excited when he comes.

forgive me for saying this and it's just my opinion but the dog needs to be looked at BEFORE you can even think of putting it down. It could be something totally curable.

    Update on dog:

The vet gave my friend some vitamin K to give the dog. Vet said it acts as a counter agent for D-Con and now the dog is doing fine. Is up and moving around, eating and she is perking up quite well.

Friend is keeping her inside and when the dog wants out she goes with her to make sure that she does not get into anything suspicious.
