    Has anyone had a Colonoscopy?

I'm having one Monday. I know how the procedure works but just really don't know what to expect other than what my family Dr. told me. He wanted it done asap because of some test results & that didn't leave time to meet with the Gastro Dr. before the procedure.

Here is a good link to read about it. I hope everything goes well.

Thanks sarasmiles. That explained it very well.
My family Dr. & I only talked about it briefly as a next step if the other test didn't reveal anything. But he didn't really seem to be in a hurry to have it done until those blood tests (Sed Rate) came back really high.

That's what I'm afraid of. I'm such a big baby when it comes to stuff like this.

    Thanks for the well wishes!

Well the good thing is they give you a drug that is supposed to make you forget everything when its over.

I don't recall any pain afterwards. What is funny is I remember groaning because I was very uncomfortable but do not remember the pain. I hate IV's too, they suck big time!..lol You will be just fine!

I can't stand IV's either. They can never get me on the first try. Last time I was in the hospital, they put one in my wrist. Now that hurt
Thanks so much for the info. I feel a little better about it now.

They will give you an "I don't care shot"...anybody could do anything to you, say anything to you and well, you just don't care. I would like to warn you though, you will repeat yourself alot the rest of the day after that shot, don't be alarmed, it's a side effect of it.
    Good luck!
