Hamilton Beach Recalls Slow Cookers
A kitchen appliance maker is recalling 2.7 million slow cookers because they could burn you.
Proctor-Silex
(800) 429-6363
The recalled slow cookers sold under the names Hamilton Beach and Proctor-Silex.
The problem ... the handles on the base of the cooker can break and hot food can spill on you. The company has about 4,700 reports of the handles breaking.
The slow cookers have Series Codes "A" through "D" along with the following model numbers:
Hamilton Beach - 33390, 33475, 33575, 33590, 33675, 33690, 33725, 33850 and 33860
Proctor-Silex - 33320, 33320FD, 33325, 33375, 33380 and 33625A
Hamilton Beach/Portfolio - 33680
Discount department stores sold the slow cookers nationwide from January 1999 to December 2002 from $15 to $45.
The company wants you to stop using the cookers and will ship you a free replacement base.
You can contact Hamilton Beach at (800) 429-6363.
