Yes I have. However, there usually are files left behind. Those are the ones I'm having trouble finding and deleting without destroying the safe stuff I want to keep.

I know there are programs and/or systems out there that should work. But I have no idea as to where to find them.

If ad aware doesn't get rid of it, try spybot. It's also a free d/l. You can find it on cnet i believe
Do not judge those who question as they will be the ones who learn

I've had adds sent to me that says they have a program to keep porn off your compute. It will seek it out and destroy it. Maybe you could install it and if it costs anything charge it to your %^$%^&*$#$%^&*(*brother. Hey, he caused the problem.

I used to have a link to a site that would scan your PC and bring up porn files, so you could delete them, but over 3/4 of what it actually brought up wasn't really porn. it used parts of filenames so it got a little of everything. If I can find the link, I'll post it for you.

I don't know of any programs off the top of my head to remove those things that don't have a negative effect on the computer. There is always a downfall to these programs. Whatever you do DO NOT download or put a proggie on your system called Purity Scan. IT claims to clean your system but in effect really screws your system up. Here is part of our support-tech notes we send out to our customers who ask us about these things. I will continue to look up some resolutions for you. Just don't know if there is anything out there that will help, or work better than just carefully cleaning it up on you own. Hope the info helps..We highly recommend to our customers to use Ad Aware to keep thier system free of spyware since you are also concerned about that.

What is this Winservs.exe on my system.

Winservs.exe is the executable part of a program called Purity Scan (www.purityscan.com). The software purports to scan your hard drive for pornography.
It also contains an adware element which is not currently detectable by Ad-aware (downloadable from www.lavasoftusa.com).

It is NOT a trojan, and should not be confused with the "winserv.exe" trojan. But it is intrusive and badly coded adware which takes up system resources (it seems to have a memory leak) and apparently goes out the Internet periodically to download ads.

I'm using Zone Alarm and like it. The web site is www.trendmicro.com
You can use it free for so many days, like 30 to see if you like it. We paid for it after the trial period. I think it's around $60.00 for two years.

Wait a minute. Zone Alarm web site is www.zonelabs.com Trendmicro is the web site to find out if you have any viresus or junk on your computer for free. It also tells you how to uninstall them.
