Where's a good place to buy a dress for a wedding?

I need to buy a dress for a wedding and haven't been able to find one appropiate in stores so now I'm turning to look online.

I need a lavender (or similar color) dress with sleeves that dosen't cost a fortune. Yeah right.

Do you savvy shoppers have any ideas? I'm getting close to my wits end. And they are pretty frazzled.

GOOD LUCK! I bought 3 dresses at clearance sales for my nephews wedding & I am not sure which one I am wearing.
One is a lavender but it is sleevless. It is just a plain dress, to the knee. It is a size 6, would it fit?

I'm a size 22.

There's a dress at Chadwicks that I like but it really costs more than I can afford.

If you want to you can go see it at dress
I'm not sure if the periwinkle would be close enough to lavender r lilac to be ok and I'm also not sure if a long dress like that would look ok on me because I am so big.

My fashion sense is not all that great.

Well, that was gonna be my suggestions - Chadwicks - lol. So, beyond that, I don't know. Sometimes Sears has fairly inexpensive dresses, but color and size would be hit and miss.

I've checked Sears and they had some on clearance but not my size. Last time I went they didn't have anything. Neither did Mervyns or
dillards.

Sorry Tas, if it would have fit you I would have lent it to you. When it gets closer to my nephews wedding I will take pics and ask opinions as to which one to wear.
I couldn't get that link you posted to work for me. Are you in the wedding party that you are looking for a certain color?

Have you tried consignment stores? Especially the ones that carry fancy dresses? May still be high but not as high. I can't get the pic you posted--image not available.

I'll call the David's Bridal in town tomoorow and see if they have anything in my size and the color I need. I didn't see anty actual dresses on the site that were clearance. It sounded more like it was in store only.

ckerr4 actually posted the dress I had found at chadwicks (the yellow one). Sorry my link didn't work I probably copied it down wrong. I wish I knew how to actually make the picture show up like that. I'm off back to Chadwicks to see if I can get a closer look at that other dress. It's very pretty as well.

Thanks for your help guys. It makes this kind of fun instead of depressing.
