my sister in law has been getting phone calls from a credit card place a real weird guy calling anyway she just called me crying this guy has already called this morning saying hes going to call the county sherrif to track her down what should she do?

Seems I would beat the guy to the punch and call the Sherriff before he does. If he is scaring her and harassing her she should report it.

this is just a scare tactic. i dont think thye can call the sherfiff to do anything unless this company went to court, got a settlement from court AND there is a warrent for her arrest for it. she needs to tell them to go ahead and just watch the sherriff laugh at them!

I had someone who said he was a detective so I thought I had to cooperate with him on a bill I was disputing. I just quite answering his phone calls and it stopped.

There should be better laws to protect us from telemarketers, bill collectors etc..
I had a bill collector calling my house for a hospital bill that my insurance was supposed to pay he said if I could make the bill I could pay and that he was marking me refused to pay. He would not hang up he asked me how I live if I don't work! And he was persistant that I grab my check book to pay the bill he was asking all kids of personal questions and would not back down or leave me alone he was harrassing me bad to the point where he was calling three times a day at all hours. I almost called the police to see what could be done he finally stopped calling now he just floods my mailbox!
These people are nasty, beligerant rude, crude and just plain evil.
I would love to be paid for being an a**hole!
I feel sorry if he talks to old people like that no respect..
