hippie, When I talked to my doctors office a few min ago she said a lot of the insurance companies are covering it with enrollment in the support group. So call yours, it may cover it.
The receptionist said they had a lot of people on it now and they were doing very good. Said they had very positive feedback from it. My daughter aslo knows a few people on it and they are doing great as well, my ex sister in-law was a 3 pack a dayer and quit with this drug, said it was easy. I'm not fooling myself into thinking it will be easy but I am determined to try!!

6 1/2 mos smoke free .. congrats and good luck to all of you out there who have quit or are trying to quit.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them. Distance and time may separate us but friendship and memories won't.
~When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure~

I did the same thing when I got mine. Its like I KNEW I would quit if I read it and I was afraid to! When I did read it, it was awesome. He TELLS you to smoke while you are reading even..lol
It can't work if ya don't read it, good luck!!

Got my prescription for chantix yesterday. I have to wait about 3 days to fill it as my insurance company said it would take that long for the approval to go through. I start out in small doses and build up over a weeks time and then after a week stop smoking. My doctor said all his patients on it are doing GREAT. As it stands now Aug3 or4th will be my stop date.

I have been quit for 1 Week, 54 minutes and 5 seconds (7 days). I have saved $44.33 by not smoking 211 cigarettes. I have saved 17 hours and 35 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 7/17/2007 11:30 AM
I want to thank ahippiechic for inspiring me to quit. Its been a week, and I havent slipped! And if I can do it, anyone can! I have been smoking for 21 years, since I was 12. More than a pack a day, every day. I have tried to quit more times than I can count. I used the commit lozenges for the first couple of days, when it was to hard to not smoke, but I havent had one for 2 days. I was afraid of being hooked on them instead of the cigs, but so far so good!

Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, I'll take it!
