I got the prescription for Chantix yesterday. I was going to start last night but one of the side effects is nausea. My pharmacist said he has had a few people say they had it but it goes away after about a week. I am leaving for a trip to Nashville to see my brother tomorrow and the last thing I want is to throw up the whole time I am there, I get nauseated very easy and am scared I will be one to puke. So I am starting the drug on Tues. the 31st and will stop smoking one week after that. only a 6 day difference in original plan and after 30 (YIKES) years of smoking, 6 days will not matter much.

I'm going Monday for my prescription. I really hope I can do this. I've got one other person at work who said they'll do it at the same time, and a couple others who are waiting to see how I do....No pressure here..lol

That's so great. I still haven't went to my Dr to ask about it, I really need to do that!
I've had 3 since July 12th, but still want one.

You are doing so great Hippie, especially with all the stress of the ceremony.
I still want one mentally but physically the want is gone.
Last night right before I went to bed I almost had one, but instead I picked up a butt from one I had smoked a few days ago and took a drag off of it (unlit) and just the taste was gross (an old smoked squished cig, yuck) so I might just keep that butt around for when the urge is bad just to gag myself out of it.

Maybe I should try that too.

Well, I'm officially 48hrs smoke free. I had my last one 4/7 at 4:30. I'm taking the Chantix and haven't had any problems with it. The best part is I only had to pay $20 for it, so I'm spending the rest of the money on healthy less fattening food to eat if I get cravings.

mewoman-are you having any trouble sleeping with the chantix? The nausea was only the first day or two after going full dose and that went away as soon as I stopped smoking. I am having a horrible time falling asleep and then I wake up constantly. Not sure if it's the chantix or my estrogen (just upped that dose)
Trying to figure out what drug is causing what.
and CONGRATS on 2 days smoke free!!!
my last cig was on 8/7 at about 9pm so Im right behind ya

I know trouble sleeping is one of the side effects I've read about. I seemed to have trouble the first couple days, but I think I'm okay now. I don't know if it was because of the chantix or just stress...............
hmmmm, must have been the chantix...stress is still here......lol
