Paris Terror Attack 11/13/2015
Paris attacks: Suicide bomber identified
140 Already Confirmed Dead
More than 300 injured, at least 99 seriously
PARIS (CNN) —Authorities in France and Belgium took people into custody Saturday in the aftermath of the worst violence in France since World War II, a series of terror attacks that killed more than 120 people.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the horrific Paris attacks, for which France vowed revenge.
President Francois Hollande deemed the shootings and bombings "an act of war." He said early Saturday, "We will lead the fight, and we will be ruthless."
Belgian authorities made a number of arrests there in the first publicized apprehensions after Friday night's bloodshed, a Belgian Justice Ministry spokeswoman said Saturday. In Belgium, raids were conducted in the Brussels suburb of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Justice Ministry spokeswoman Sieghild Lacoere said. A car rented in Brussels was found near one of the sites of the Paris attacks, and "that's what triggered the raids," Lacoere said.
In all, the raids took place in three homes in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, a Western intelligence source told CNN.
At least one of the raids is connected to the Paris attacks, according to the source, who is in contact with French and Belgian intelligence services. The other raids are connected to individuals known to Belgium intelligence, the source said. Some of the Paris attackers are also known to Belgium intelligence, the source added.
Also Saturday, CNN affiliate BFMTV reported that the father and a brother of one of the attackers had been taken into custody. And AFP reported that the two men were detained after police raided their homes 130 kilometers (81 miles) east of Paris. CNN has not independently verified that the men were picked up by authorities.
One of the suicide bombers in Friday's attacks has been identified as Ismael Omar Mostefai, according to a French member of Parliament. Mostefai lived in Chartres at least until 2012, said Jean-Pierre Gorges, who is mayor of the French town as well as a member of Parliament, via Facebook.
Man stopped at border
A man who rented a VW Polo used by terrorists at the Bataclan concert venue was intercepted at the border with Belgium, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said. The man, who was driving a different vehicle when he was caught, is a French national living in Belgium and was accompanied by two other people, Molins said.
One of the terrorists who died in Paris was identified as a 29-year-old French national from Courcouronnes in the city's southern suburbs, Molins said Saturday.
That individual was involved in the attack on a concert hall, had a criminal history and was identified as having been radicalized in 2010, but that person had never been accused of terrorism, Molins said.
Molins said the attacker was identified by fingerprints.
In the nearly simultaneous attacks on Friday night, the assailants targeted six sites, the deadliest being a massacre at a concert hall where at least 80 people were killed.
In addition to the 129 people killed in Paris, 352 were injured, at least 99 seriously, Molins said Saturday. Seven terrorists were killed, French officials have said. They all had assault rifles, Molins added.
At least one American is among the 129 dead, officials said. The U.S. victim was Nohemi Gonzalez, 23, of El Monte, California, a junior studying design in Paris for a semester while enrolled at California State University, Long Beach, the school said.
Three Chileans also were killed, as were two people from Belgium, two from Mexico, two from Spain, one from Portugal, one from the United Kingdom and many French citizens. Other nations whose citizens were killed had yet to identify those victims.
ISIS claim
In an online statement distributed by supporters Saturday, ISIS said eight militants wearing explosive belts and armed with machine guns attacked precisely selected areas in the French capital.
The threat of ISIS is well-known, with the jihadist group's atrocities in Syria and Iraq being met with condemnation and airstrikes by a U.S.-led coalition that includes France.
But the scale and apparent coordination of Friday's attacks inside the European Union, which comes on the heels of ISIS' claim of taking down a Russian airliner in Egypt, represent an escalation of capabilities if confirmed.
A Syrian passport was found near the body of an attacker outside one of the targeted sites, the Stade de France, according to a police source, CNN affiliate France 2 and other French media reported.
The passport belonged to a person who had been processed on the Greek island of Leros, Greek Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection Nikos Toskas said Saturday. CNN cannot independently verify that the passport was authentic or whether it actually belonged to one of the attackers.
A source close to the investigation told CNN that an Egyptian passport was found on another attacker. "There is strong assumption that these passports are fake," the source said.
Hollande blamed the attacks on ISIS and said they were planned from the outside -- "with inside complicity."
"When the terrorists are capable of doing such acts, they must know that they will face a France very determined," he said.
While ISIS' claims have not been confirmed, a senior U.S. intelligence official told CNN the U.S. government has "no reason to doubt" Hollande's attribution of the attacks to the terrorist group.
The coordination and sophistication of such attacks are the most recent evidence that ISIS is eclipsing al Qaeda as the most significant global terrorist threat.
Response in wake of attacks
Hollande issued a state of emergency and called for three days of mourning after the attacks unfolded.
On Saturday, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve elaborated that the state of emergency could mean restrictions on people's movements. Border controls were tightened as of Friday, and the gendarmerie paramilitary police are on heightened alert, he said.
France has beefed up security forces at public transportation hubs, on the main roads and highways as well as everywhere in the center of Paris, Cazeneuve said after a meeting with Hollande.
Night of horror
Gunmen hit Friday night when bars and restaurants were bustling with residents and tourists. When they stormed in, glass shattered under the rage of bullets. Excited weekend chatter turned into panicked screams.
One of the targets was near a soccer match as France played world champion Germany. Terrified fans huddled together and streamed onto the field after blasts went off. Others hugged.
At the Bataclan, a concert hall where most of the fatalities occurred, fans were listening to American rock band Eagles of Death Metal when the blasts started.
"People yelled, screamed," said Julien Pearce, a radio reporter who was there. "It lasted for 10 minutes. Ten horrific minutes where everybody was on the floor covering their head."
At least 80 people died there.Laissez les bon temps rouler! Other attacks took place along streets in Paris and at the national stadium in Saint-Denis.
CNN iReporter Chris Morrow of San Diego was staying five minutes from Le Petit Cambodge, a Cambodian restaurant covering an event.
"I heard an explosion and pop, pop, pop, which sounded like gunfire. I instinctively grabbed my phone and started filming out of the window."
"The men were huddling around, and there was no one on the street except them. They had long shotguns and seemed hysterical, screaming and not really sure what to do.
"They tried a few apartment doors, trying to get in, but they were locked. In the end, they ran toward the river. I am not sure if they were police or the attackers."
Solidarity and fear
There has been an outpouring of support and solidarity in Paris, but large gatherings in the streets have not materialized in part because the state of emergency prohibits those.
But there's more to it than those restrictions, Paris Deputy Mayor Patrick Klugman said.
"There is more sadness and probably more fear," Klugman told CNN's Christiane Amanpour. "We don't know yet if this terror in fact is over or not. And, from time to time on social media, you have more reports -- most (of it) false news -- but it shows how worried" the population is.
In the aftermath of the attacks, Parisians helped each other out by using social media to invite those in need inside their homes.
The message spread and "all around here, people opened up the doors of their buildings of their flats to welcome people," Klugman said.
Concerns
President Barack Obama spoke to Hollande and offered him support and condolences. The FBI and the Department of Homeland Security are closely monitoring the situation, but there is no credible or specific threat in the United States, a U.S. government official said.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the attackers hate freedom and vowed that her nation will help lead the fight against terrorists.
Pope Francis on Saturday called the attacks part of the "piecemeal Third World War."
"There is no religious or human justification for it," he said in a telephone interview with TV2000, the television network of the Italian Bishops' Conference.
"I am close to the people of France, to the families of the victims, and I am praying for all of them," Pope Francis said in the interview, according to a statement from the Vatican. "I am moved, and I am saddened. I do not understand. These things (are) hard to understand."
Previous massacre
In January, two brothers attacked the Paris offices of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, killing 12 and wounding 11.
Two days later, they were shot to death in a standoff with police in Dammartin-en-Goele.
Their associate attacked a Jewish grocery store in Paris, taking more than a dozen people hostage and killing four. He was killed by police.
Although the country has been wounded again, "France always rises up," Hollande said Saturday in the wake of the attacks.

The Barbarians Are Inside, And There Are No Gates
by Mark Steyn
Steyn on Europe
November 13, 2015
As I write, Paris is under curfew for the first time since the German occupation, and the death toll from the multiple attacks stands at 158, the vast majority of them slaughtered during a concert at the Bataclan theatre, a delightful bit of 19th century Chinoiserie on the boulevard Voltaire. The last time I was there, if memory serves, was to see Julie Pietri. I'm so bloody sick of these savages shooting and bombing and killing and blowing up everything I like - whether it's the small Quebec town where my little girl's favorite fondue restaurant is or my favorite hotel in Amman or the brave freespeecher who hosted me in Copenhagen ...or a music hall where I liked to go to hear a little jazz and pop and get away from the cares of the world for a couple of hours. But look at the photographs from Paris: there's nowhere to get away from it; the barbarians who yell "Allahu Akbar!" are there waiting for you ...when you go to a soccer match, you go to a concert, you go for a drink on a Friday night. They're there on the train... at the magazine office... in the Kosher supermarket... at the museum in Brussels... outside the barracks in Woolwich...
Twenty-four hours ago, I said on the radio apropos the latest campus "safe space" nonsense: http://www.steynonline.com/7292/tomo...elongs-to-them
This is what we're going to be talking about when the mullahs nuke us.
With his usual killer comedy timing, the "leader of the free world" told George Stephanopoulos on "Good Morning, America" this very morning that he'd "contained" ISIS and that they're not "gaining strength". http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/13/politi...ated-abc-news/ A few hours later, a cell whose members claim to have been recruited by ISIS slaughtered over 150 people in the heart of Paris and succeeded in getting two suicide bombers and a third bomb to within a few yards of the French president.
Visiting the Bataclan, M Hollande declared that "nous allons mener le combat, il sera impitoyable": We are going to wage a war that will be pitiless.
Does he mean it? Or is he just killing time until Obama and Cameron and Merkel and Justin Trudeau and Malcolm Turnbull fly in and they can all get back to talking about sea levels in the Maldives in the 22nd century? By which time France and Germany and Belgium and Austria and the Netherlands will have been long washed away.
Among his other coy evasions, President Obama described tonight's events as "an attack not just on Paris, it's an attack not just on the people of France, but this is an attack on all of humanity and the universal values we share".
But that's not true, is it? He's right that it's an attack not just on Paris or France. What it is is an attack on the west, on the civilization that built the modern world - an attack on one portion of "humanity" by those who claim to speak for another portion of "humanity". And these are not "universal values" but values that spring from a relatively narrow segment of humanity. They were kinda sorta "universal" when the great powers were willing to enforce them around the world and the colonial subjects of ramshackle backwaters such as Aden, Sudan and the North-West Frontier Province were at least obliged to pay lip service to them. But the European empires retreated from the world, and those "universal values" are utterly alien to large parts of the map today.
And then Europe decided to invite millions of Muslims to settle in their countries. Most of those people don't want to participate actively in bringing about the death of diners and concertgoers and soccer fans, but at a certain level most of them either wish or are indifferent to the death of the societies in which they live - modern, pluralist, western societies and those "universal values" of which Barack Obama bleats. So, if you are either an active ISIS recruit or just a guy who's been fired up by social media, you have a very large comfort zone in which to swim, and which the authorities find almost impossible to penetrate.
And all Chancellor Merkel and the EU want to do is make that large comfort zone even larger by letting millions more "Syrian" "refugees" walk into the Continent and settle wherever they want. As I wrote after the Copenhagen attacks in February:
http://www.steynonline.com/6813/the-morning-after
I would like to ask Mr Cameron and Miss Thorning-Schmidt what's their happy ending here?
What's their roadmap for fewer "acts of violence" in the years ahead?
Or are they riding on a wing and a prayer that they can manage the situation and hold it down to what cynical British civil servants used to call during the Irish "Troubles" "an acceptable level of violence"?
In Pakistan and Nigeria, the citizenry are expected to live with the reality that every so often Boko Haram will kick open the door of the schoolhouse and kidnap your daughters for sex-slavery or the Taliban will gun down your kids and behead their teacher in front of the class.
And it's all entirely "random", as President Obama would say, so you just have to put up with it once in a while, and it's tough if it's your kid, but that's just the way it is.
If we're being honest here, isn't that all Mr Cameron and Miss Thorning-Schmidt are offering their citizens? Spasms of violence as a routine feature of life, but don't worry, we'll do our best to contain it - and you can help mitigate it by not going to "controversial" art events, or synagogues, or gay bars, or...
To repeat what I said a few days ago, I'm Islamed out. I'm tired of Islam 24/7, at Colorado colleges, Marseilles synagogues, Sydney coffee shops, day after day after day. The west cannot win this thing with a schizophrenic strategy of targeting things and people but not targeting the ideology, of intervening ineffectually overseas and not intervening at all when it comes to the remorseless Islamization and self-segregation of large segments of their own countries.
So I say again: What's the happy ending here? Because if M Hollande isn't prepared to end mass Muslim immigration to France and Europe, then his "pitiless war" isn't serious. And, if they're still willing to tolerate Mutti Merkel's mad plan to reverse Germany's demographic death spiral through fast-track Islamization, then Europeans aren't serious. In the end, the decadence of Merkel, Hollande, Cameron and the rest of the fin de civilisation western leadership will cost you your world and everything you love.
So screw the candlelight vigil.

Syrian refugees now arriving in THIS U.S. city
Written by Michele Hickford, Editor-in-Chief on November 15, 2015
Just to recap, on Friday night, Paris was under siege by a coordinated Islamic terror attack. It is now known that at least one of the attackers was most probably a Syrian “asylum seeker” who had crossed into Western Europe the beginning of October. http://www.allenbwest.com/2015/11/un...ama-was-doing/
On the same day Paris was attacked, the Obama administration announced it would be speeding up and increasing the number of Syrians allowed into this country. http://www.allenbwest.com/2015/11/pa...han-you-think/
Oh, and in case you forget, in September a Syrian operative claimed more than 4,000 covert ISIS gunmen had been smuggled into Western nations – hidden amongst innocent refugees according to the Express. http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/...urope-Refugees
The ISIS smuggler, who is in his thirties and is described as having a trimmed jet-black beard, revealed the ongoing clandestine operation is a complete success. “Just wait,” he smiled.
Two Turkish refugee-smugglers backed up the claims made by the ISIS Syrian operative. One admitted to helping more than ten trained ISIS rebels infiltrate Europe under the guise of asylum seekers. He said: “I’m sending some fighters who want to go and visit their families. Others just go to Europe to be ready.”
In Louisiana, WALB reports “the flood of refugees migrating from the terror in Syria and Afghanistan has begun to have a trickle effect in the New Orleans area. http://www.walb.com/story/30428985/s...in-new-orleans
“We had served two families, we’re expecting one more soon, and we do not know how many more, but we expect more,” said Martin Gutierrez of Catholic Charities, which is part of the Archidiocese of New Orleans.
Catholic Charities has targeted services for helping refugees. “So it’s a matter of uniting the families, which is something that the church really promotes, obviously. Some of them don’t have relatives and we try to help them become integral parts of our communities,” Gutierrez said.”
“New Orleans FBI chief and anti-terrorism expert Jim Bernazzani said, “If I was in charge of ISIL, logistically I’d take advantage of this situation and put my people in, into the United States. Now with that said, the FBI is on top of this big time with our Joint Terrorism Task Force and we have what’s called a Terrorist Screening Center that these individuals will be run through.”
But make no mistake, not every refugee seeking admission to the U.S. would face such scrutiny.
“It’s going to be the 18- to 45-year-old male for the most part,” he said. “It’s a percentage game. It’s not fail-safe, but it’s a percentage game.”
“It is part of our Christian faith to welcome the stranger,” said Gutierrez.”
I don’t know what you think, but none of this is making me feel secure. When the enemy tells you exactly what they’re going to do, does it, and in one night you have 129 people dead and 352 wounded, isn’t it time to take them seriously? Oh and don’t forget…they just blew up an airliner too.
http://www.allenbwest.com/2015/11/sy...this-u-s-city/
OUR FEARS CONFIRMED. Christiane Amanpour of CNN just reported that French intelligence says the first bomber identified in the Paris terror attack was a Muslim terrorist who entered Europe Oct. 7 posing as a refugee from Syria. Amanpour said ISIS had announced that they would be infiltrating their ISIS fighters among the refugees, and that is now proven true. Many sources have said 80 percent of the "refugees" are males of military age (18-45). Allowing these "refugees" to enter Europe and the United States poses a grave threat to our security!Laissez les bon temps rouler! Tens Of Thousands Of Christians In Poland Take Over The Streets To Fight Islam And Leftism,
They Cry Out “God, honour, homeland” And “Stop Islamisation” November 12, 2015
By Theodore Shoebat
Tens of thousands of Christians in Poland took to the streets to fight Islam and leftism, crying out “Stop Islamisation” and the most beautiful words of “God, honour, homeland”, which reminds me so much of St. Peter’s words, “Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.” (1 Peter 2:17).
Here are some photos of this event: http://shoebat.com/2015/11/12/tens-o...-islamisation/
According to one report: http://www.worldbulletin.net/news/16...polish-capital
Tens of thousands of protesters poured into Warsaw’s streets on Wednesday for a demonstration organised by the far-right, marching under the slogan “Poland for the Polish” and burning an EU flag.
Police said 25,000 people joined the march, which marked the anniversary of Poland’s return to independence after World War I, while organisers put the numbers at 50,000.
“God, honour, homeland,” chanted the protesters as they marched under a sea of red-and-white Polish flags.
Demonstrators trampled and burned a European Union flag at one point, while a banner added to the anti-EU theme with the slogan “EU macht frei” (“Work makes you free” in German), a reference to the slogan over the gates at Auschwitz.
“Yesterday it was Moscow, today it’s Brussels which takes away our freedom,” chanted one group of protesters.
Other banners read “Great Catholic Poland” and “Stop Islamisation”.
Several thousand riot police officers were deployed for the protest, which was punctuated by numerous firecrackers and smoke bombs but otherwise went off peacefully.
The annual march, organised by Poland’s nationalist right, has seen clashes in previous years.
“I came here because I love Poland and want to show it,” said 27-year-old Piotr, who came with his fiancee. “I came here for my grandfather, who fought in the Warsaw Uprising (against the Nazi occupation of the Polish capital), and for his father, who fought for independence.”Laissez les bon temps rouler! Important Events Leading Up to the Paris Terrorist Attacks. Sheer Coincidence?
We are bringing to the attention of our readers four important events which preceded the Paris attacks.
1. The French media had already predicted a terrorist attack more than a month before the actual occurrence.
2. The head of France’s external intelligence was in Washington for consultations with CIA Chief John Brennan two weeks before the attacks.
3. On November 5 (one week before the Paris terrorist attacks), the Council of Ministers announced its decision to send France’s aircraft carrier group Charles de Gaulle to the Middle East, with a mandate to “fight against the Islamic state”.
4. On the morning of November 13, an emergency scenario of a multi-site terrorist attack is conducted in Paris, involving first responders, medical personnel, police and firemen.
At this early stage, it is impossible to confirm whether these events bear a relationship to the dramatic events of November 13th. What they do convey, however, is that France was on a “war footing” against the Islamic State prior to the events of November 13th.
War preparations allegedly against the Islamic State were ongoing prior to the official announcement by president Hollande that the Paris terrorist attacks of November 13 constituted “an act of war” against the French Republic.
The decision to dispatch the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier together with its GAN carrier group to the Middle East is of utmost significance. It constitutes a formidable force which will be joining its US and coalition partners.
This deployment of France’s naval and air power points to a strategy of military escalation directed against Syria and its allies. It is not intended to go after the Islamic State, which is protected by the US led coalition.
France claim’s the right to defend itself, intimating that the French Republic has been attacked from outside the country.
Are the Paris terrorist attacks being used as a pretext and justification to intervene militarily in Syria in violation of international law. According to French President François Hollande, the terrorist attack was “prepared, organized and planned from outside the country by the Islamic State, but with help from inside.”

French Air Force Bombing ISIS Capital
John S. Roberts
November 15, 2015
This is big!
President Hollande of France declared the terror attacks seen in Paris on November 13 an act of war, and now he’s taking action.
From Fox News: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2015/11...isis-in-raqqa/
French jets struck the heart of ISIS-controlled territory on Sunday in the first direct retaliation for Friday’s deadly terror attacks that killed 129 in Paris.
Ten French fighter jets dropped 20 bombs on a command and control center, jihadi recruitment center, munitions depot and ISIS training camp in the Syrian city of Raqqa, AP and Reuters reported, citing a statement from the French Defense Ministry.
The “massive” raid was launched from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan and was carried out in coordination with U.S. forces.
The entire world is behind you, France – with the exception of very few nations.
Prepare to meet your 72 virgins, terrorist scum!Laissez les bon temps rouler! Paris bomber had Syria refugee passport, official says - CNN.com
Passport linked to terrorist complicates Syrian refugee crisis
By Christiane Amanpour and Thom Patterson, CNN
Updated 12:24 PM ET, Sun November 15, 2015
Paris (CNN)—The Syrian refugee crisis just got worse, due to the Paris attacks. The immigrant wave into Europe has been reaching new highs and it shows no sign of tapering off.
One of the men who attacked Paris held an emergency passport or similar document, according to an unnamed French senator who was briefed by the French Ministry of the Interior. The senator told CNN the bomber falsely declared himself to be a Syrian named Ahmad al Muhammad, born on September 10, 1990, and was allowed to enter Greece on October 3. From there he moved to Macedonia, then Serbia and Croatia, where he registered in the Opatovac refugee camp, the lawmaker said. Eventually, he made his way to Paris, where he was one of three men who blew themselves up at the Stade de France.
Fingerprints on the passport matched those of the Stade de France bomber, the French senator told CNN.
The fingerprint was not in the French database, the senator said, and therefore officials believe the man was among a group of refugees and migrants.
The two others who detonated themselves at the stadium carried false Turkish passports, the French senator said. "This is what we had feared," a senior French official told the Wall Street Journal.
European officials told CNN that they believe a new professional squad of terrorists is inserting itself into some of these migrant voyages.
Pope Francis had already thought about this possibility back in September. He told a Portugese radio station, "It's true, nowadays, territorial security conditions are not the same as they were in other periods (of mass migration). ... The truth is that just 400 kilometres (250 miles) from Sicily there is an incredibly cruel terrorist group. So there is a danger of infiltration, this is true," The Telegraph reported.
Shelter the homeless, or protect the host country?
This development will likely intensify a bitter argument. One side believes it's important to provide shelter to thousands of helpless people who may die if they remain in Syria.
The other side believes letting in Syrian war refugees will put host countries at greater risk for terrorist attacks.
Vetting every incoming refugee would require huge resources. It likely would slow down a widening river of refugees that has already posed logistical problems in many nations. Just look how slowly the European Union is moving on its promise to relocate refugees: As of a few days ago, the EU had only relocated 147 of 160,000.
But the other end of the spectrum, closing borders to Syrian war refugees could force many Syrians to remain at home -- exposing them to deadly fighting between anti-government rebels and government forces. Many feel they must leave the region to save their lives.
Closing borders to refugees also may violate international agreements.
The United Nations' 1951 Refugee Convention, adopted after World War II, defines what refugees are: those who are seeking refuge from persecution. It also gives them the right to not be sent back home into harm's way, except under extreme circumstances.
Hungary signed the U.N convention. But refugees who've sought refuge there have been subjected to detainment in what migrants and activists have described as dismal conditions as they await transfer. Hungary has erected a fence at its Serbian border to help control the flow of migrants. To get around Hungary, throngs of refugees traveling through Serbia headed west to Croatia as an alternative route into Western Europe.
So far, Germany has been the most welcoming country, saying it might take in 1 million migrants by the end of the year. The government has worked to reduce aid to asylum seekers in the country and deport more quickly those who don't meet the official designation of political refugee.
And in spite of sympathy for refugees from the vast majority of Germans, bands of far-right protesters have shouted hate and venom at arriving refugees, throwing bottles at their buses. Dozens of empty, waiting shelters have been torched by arsonists.
Another wrinkle to this global headache: Keeping borders open to war refugees might encourage more people to take dangerous risks during their journey from Syria to Europe. Many have already drowned during attempts to cross the Mediterranean in makeshift boats.
Then there's the deadly weather. Winter is coming. Travel will increasingly become a potentially life-threatening choice for many families.
There seem to be no simple solutions to a terribly complicated problem. And it just got a lot worse.

Two Syrian 'refugees' among seven terrorists in Paris attacks
A ‘refugee’ in killers’ ranks: Terrorist linked to Syrian refugee route
By Yaron Steinbuch November 15, 2015 | 1:00am
At least one Syrian refugee who had recently entered Europe was among the seven terrorists who carried out the deadliest attacks in France since World War II, according to authorities.
The strikes across Paris left 159 people dead and 352 injured.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks Saturday in a statement that warned, “Indeed, this is just the beginning.”

“This is what we had feared,” the Wall Street Journal quoted a senior French official saying of the specter of terrorists hiding among the 800,000 Syrian refugees who have flooded into Europe so far this year.
At least one of the terrorists was found with a Syrian passport, presumably having made his way to France via Greece as a refugee last month.
A second attacker also may have presented himself as a refugee on the Greek island of Leros two months earlier, officials said.
Authorities wouldn’t rule out the possibility that other extremists tied to the attack remain on the loose.
The first terrorist name was released late Saturday.
Suicide bomber Ismael Omar Mostefai — a 29-year-old Frenchman who joined the shooting spree at Paris’ Bataclan concert hall — was identified by prints lifted from his severed finger, authorities said.

Mostefai lived in Chartres, a town 60 miles southwest of Paris until at least 2012, according to a French politician.
The mayor of Chartres, Jean-Pierre Gorges, who is also a French member of Parliament, named the gunman in a Facebook post.
Mostefai apparently spent several months in Syria during the 2013-14 winter, according to French newspaper Le Monde.
He’d been on terrorist watch lists for radical Islamization since 2010, the paper reported.
An Egyptian also was among the seven attackers who left Parisians reeling from carnage at the concert hall, restaurants and the national soccer stadium.

Five Gitmo detainees transferred to UAE
By Eric Bradner, CNN
Updated 8:07 PM ET, Sun November 15, 2015
(CNN)—The United States announced the transfer Sunday of five detainees from Guantanamo Bay to the United Arab Emirates as part of an effort to eventually close the detention center in Cuba.
The Defense Department announced the move, which leaves 107 detainees at the facility -- inching President Barack Obama closer to his long-held goal of shuttering it.
Obama signed an executive order on his third day in office to begin the process of shutting down Guantanamo Bay.
The United States tries to find countries that will provide security against possible trouble from former prisoners and human rights assurances regarding the ex-inmates.
Six federal departments and agencies that comprise the task force reviewing the Guantanamo camp unanimously approved the transfer, the statement said.
Detainees from nations actively battling Islamist extremists -- such as Yemen -- are not released to their countries to ensure they don't join terror groups there.
"The United States is grateful to the Government of the United Arab Emirates for its willingness to support ongoing U.S. efforts to close the Guantanamo Bay detention facility. The United States coordinated with the Government of the United Arab Emirates to ensure these transfers took place consistent with appropriate security and humane treatment measures," the Pentagon said in a statement.
Pentagon Press Secretary Peter Cook said the United States had transferred Ali Ahmad Muhammad al-Razihi, Khalid Abd-al-Jabbar Muhammad Uthman al-Qadasi, Adil Said al-Hajj Ubayd al-Busays, Sulayman Awad Bin Uqayl al-Nahdi and Fahmi Salem Said al-Asani to the UAE government.

Pentagon says five Guantanamo detainees transferred to United Arab Emirates
Reuters - 24 minutes ago
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Five detainees at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, were transferred to the government of the United Arab Emirates, the U.S. Defense Department said on Sunday.
The transferred detainees were identified by the Pentagon as Ali Ahmad Muhammad al-Razihi, Khalid Abd-al-Jabbar Muhammad Uthman al-Qadasi, Adil Said al-Hajj Ubayd al-Busays, Sulayman Awad Bin Uqayl al-Nahdi and Fahmi Salem Said al-Asani.
The five were described in media reports as low-level Yemeni detainees.
The Pentagon said 107 detainees remained at the Guantanamo prison for suspected foreign militants.
The Defense Department is expected soon to unveil a long-awaited plan outlining how it would close the detention center at Guantanamo despite fierce resistance to shuttering the facility in Congress.
President Barack Obama, who campaigned on a pledge to close the prison, views it as a damaging symbol of detainee abuse and detention without charge that was inherited from Republican President George W. Bush.
But the White House said last week that Obama would sign a sweeping defense policy bill passed by the U.S. Senate despite provisions making it more difficult to close the Guantanamo prison.
