1,300 New Pages of Regulations
Obama HHS Dumped 1,300 New Pages of Regulations
in Advance of Independence Day Holiday
July 7, 2014 By Matthew Burke
You know it’s bad news when the Obama regime dumps news or regulations on a Friday night or on the verge of a major national holiday.
As most citizens and reporters were preparing to celebrate America’s Independence Day, the 4th of July, the Obama bureaucrats were busy inflicting 1,296 pages of new health care regulations on an already highly over-regulated industry. At 4:15 PM on July 3, when many were checking out for the three-day weekend, the Obama HHS delivered a massive stack of new regulations.
You can see the almost 1,300 pages of largely incomprehensible gobbledygook here http://ofr.gov/OFRUpload/OFRData/2014-15939_PI.pdf and here http://ofr.gov/OFRUpload/OFRData/2014-15948_PI.pdf
Federalist Paper No. 62, written by Founding Father James Madison, considered the “Father of the Constitution,” wrote a warning about massive laws, constantly changing and incoherent:
The internal effects of a mutable policy are still more calamitous. It poisons the blessing of liberty itself. It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is to-day, can guess what it will be to-morrow.
Do you think that bureaucrats should be able to pass regulations while bypassing Congress?

The health care law is not a law........it is a political tool being used for political purposes, that changes every other day.
..
Who reviews this material? What is in it? Does any one person know? Obviously it is written by bureaucrats with an agenda. Is there any check point or do these people (probably HHS staff members and lobbyists) simply include anything that they want to and wait for the lawsuits or rebuffs? Do the staff members of our congressmen review these regs. Any judicial review before it becomes law of the land? How many more powers and how much more control does this take away from the citizens. How many more 9mm & .40 cal. hollow points does this appropriate? How many MRAPs does this assign to HHS. I probably know the answers. The only question that matters is how do we reverse these acts?
..
Those who voted for this law and voted for the stimulus without reading it and understanding it first, voted to grant more discretionary power to the Executive branch, the HHS Dept., and other departmental agencies, thereby making it 'law' that they can make decisions without any oversight. This is what we get when we 'vote for the law to find out what's in it'...
..
When you vote for a law 'to find out what's in it', this is what you get. The ACA contained provisions that granted MORE power to the Executive branch and other federal departments to make unilateral decisions on this and other laws...
..
But that is unconstitutional. You cannot pass a law that says 'we'll fill this in later'. [/I]
