State Dept. makes DESPICABLE admission
Written by The Analytical Economist on June 1, 2016
Remember when Nancy Pelosi said we “have to pass the bill (Obamacare) so we can find out what’s in it.” In the case of the Iran deal our leaders know what’s in it; they just didn’t want us to find out.
As The Washington Examiner just reported, The State Department admitted Wednesday that a 2013 press briefing video was purposefully altered to remove a portion of a discussion about the Iran nuclear talks, after an unknown State Department official asked that it be edited out.
Spokesman John Kirby’s announcement contradicted the position held by the department for the last three weeks, during which officials said the video was missing because of a “glitch.”
And how is the department responding to this revelation?
Kirby said officials didn’t know who asked for the video to be edited, and said the department is unlikely to investigate further into who wanted the video to be edited.
As for the contents of the edited clip: The missing video clip was revealed more than three weeks ago, and it involves then-spokeswoman Jen Psaki, who was asked in 2013 whether officials ever lie to the public to protect national security interests. Psaki seemed to indicate that this does happen.
James, I think there are times where diplomacy needs privacy in order to progress. This is a good example of that,” Psaki replied to Fox News reporter James Rosen.
In other words: they lie… then lie about lying.
Rosen’s question dealt with when the Obama administration started the Iran nuclear talks. The administration initially said the talks started in 2013, after moderate leaders took over Iran.
But evidence has since surfaced that the talks started earlier, before moderates were in power, a fact that some see as evidence that Obama wanted a deal at any cost.
Going to the negotiation table willing to make a deal at all costs is a recipe for disaster. You know, there’s a presidential candidate who could teach him a thing about negotiating…

The United States appears to be in a state of denial but the Islamic State of Iran is on the war path against the U.S.A., quite literally speaking. Everything but a declaration of war has been given at this point.
Islam is diametrically opposed to the Western world and the American way of life in particular. It seems they will stop at nothing to dismantle this country and they are being aided and abetted by the current regime in charge in Washington.
Iran left with no choice but to confront the US, official warns,” Jerusalem Post, July 20, 2016: http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Ira...l-warns-460953
Iran is left with no choice but to confront the US, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani warned Wednesday.
Iran’s Press TV quoted Larijani as issuing the warning in light of legislation proposed by US opponents to the Iran nuclear deal to further sanction the Islamic Republic and the UN’s first bi-annual report on the deal’s implementation released earlier this week which suggested that Iran was not following “the spirit of the deal.”
“Majlis (Iranian Parliament), utterly regretting the UN chief’s move, is warning the US administration and its House of Representatives and Senate that injurious measures against the nuclear agreement have reached such a point that there is no way left for Iran but to counteract,” Larijani stated.
Discussing Ban’s report, Larijani said, “On the one hand, the Secretary General says in his report that Iran’s commitment is encouraging, and on the other, he makes no reference to Iran’s concerns and complaints about the non-implementation of all of the P5+1’s obligations.”
The Iranian parliament speaker accused Ban of a one-sided approach, asking, “Had the Secretary General been tasked with producing a report on both side’s fulfillment of their obligations or is he the P5+1’s monitor in this?”
In calling out Iran, the UN report specifically mentioned the Islamic Republic’s ballistic missile tests which contravened a UN Security Council Resolution.
Larijani countered that the nuclear agreement itself, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), makes no mention of Iran’s ballistic missiles and the resolution in question, UN Resolution 2231, and only orders Iran not to design ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads….
Iranian nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi warned Wednesday that if US-led parties continue to disrespect the nuclear deal, Iran has the capabilities to resume uranium enrichment at even a higher level than before the agreement.
“We can go to better conditions compared with the past as quickly as possible,”Salehi was quoted as saying by Iran’s Fars News Agency.
“Of course, this will happen if the other side violates the nuclear deal and this violation will be confirmed by the board (in Iran) which supervises (implementation of) the nuclear deal.” he added.Laissez les bon temps rouler! Iran destroys 100,000 satellite dishes in crackdown
8 hrs ago
Iran destroyed 100,000 satellite dishes and receivers on Sunday as part of a widespread crackdown against the illegal devices that authorities say are morally damaging, a news website reported.
The destruction ceremony took place in Tehran in the presence of General Mohammad Reza Naghdi, head of Iran's Basij militia, who warned of the impact that satellite television was having in the conservative country.
"The truth is that most satellite channels... deviate the society's morality and culture," he said at the event according to Basij News.
"What these televisions really achieve is increased divorce, addiction and insecurity in society."
Naghdi added that a total of one million Iranians had already voluntarily handed over their satellite apparatuses to authorities.
Under Iranian law, satellite equipment is banned and those who distribute, use, or repair them can be fined up to $2,800 (2,500 euros).
Iranian police regularly raid neighbourhoods and confiscate dishes from rooftops.
Culture Minister Ali Jannati pleaded on Friday for a revision of the law.
"Reforming this law is very necessary as using satellite is strictly prohibited, but most people use it," Jannati said.
"This means that 70 percent of Iranians violate the law" by owning satellite dishes, he added.
Naghdi criticised Jannati's comments and said those in charge of cultural affairs "should be truthful with people rather than following what pleases them".
"Most of these satellite channels not only weaken the foundation of families but also cause disruptions in children's education and children who are under the influence of satellite have improper behaviour," Naghdi said.
There are dozens of foreign-based Farsi satellite channels broadcasting mostly news, entertainment, films and series.
Conservatives regularly denounce the channels as an attempt to corrupt Iranian culture and Islamic values.
Moderate President Hassan Rouhani, whose four-year mandate ends in June 2017, has repeatedly said that the ban on satellite dishes is unnecessary and counterproductive.
