i have calleed my elected officials questioning why would the US arm the syrian rebels especially since these rebels have signed an non-aggression agreement with isis? does the US think these rebels are going to kill ISIS or just assad? assad was the one who has saved christians while rebels have slaughtered christians. they keep saying they will vet these rebels...every second of every day? weren't iraqi soldiers and police vetted yet did they not turn our weapons against our brave soldiers? If i can see this, why can't our experts see it?

Two years ago Assad asked for help from the USA to battle the terrorists. We said no because Assad was the bad guy. We took down Saddam and Ghadafi and this helped free the terrorists from their oppressors. We stuck our noses where it did not belong. Egypt is a great example of that. Do I believe Putin? You bet your a$$ I do.

Obama and Congress have just approved $500 million in American taxpayer funds to train and arm the Free Syrian Army rebels to fight against ISIS. There is no real understanding of a timeline but these Islamists, some of whom have fought with al-Qaida's affiliate Jabhat al-Nusra will be flown to Saudi Arabia. Why didn't the great coalition-builder Obama have the Saudis fund this? But the real kicker folks -- which no one is telling you -- is that the Free Syrian Army just recently signed a "Non-Aggression Pact" with ISIS -- meaning in simple Southern vernacular -- they ain't gonna fight their Islamic jihadi brothers because Assad is their common enemy. Way to go Obama and Congress. Take a bow.

this agreement between rebels/jihadists/isis happened more than a week ago so that these &*%%^ government decision makers had plenty of time to take this into consideration BEFORE they voted! what will they do when these rebels tell us that they will take weapons and arms from us and then turn them against us? will these weapons and arms assist them in killing more christians?

The War Neither Obama, Nor Any Other Nation Wants to Fight
    September 15, 2014 By Alan Caruba

Two trends have emerged since President Obama’s September 10 speech regarding his intention to “degrade and destroy” the Islamic State.

One is the understanding that he will not commit U.S. troops as “boots on the ground” to fight a force estimated variously between 10,000 and 30,000 depending on intelligence guesswork.

The other trend is the reluctance of any other nation to engage in the warfare that would be necessary to defeat the terrorist army occupying northern Iraq and a swath of Syria.

This was initially signaled at the NATO meeting in Wales and, according to a September 12 page one report in The Wall Street Journal, “A day after President Barack Obama outlined a strategy to combat Islamic State militants, Washington’s international allies didn’t make clear how far they would go to join military operations even as they pledged support.”

Who would support a President who said he had no intention of being “dragged back into a war in Iraq”?

That is not a “strategy.” It’s surrender. It is an admission of a lack of intent to confront what will surely emerge as a major threat to the Middle East and the West.

    Word Games

The Obama administration was initially reluctant to even call it a war. It was a “counter-intelligence operation” according to Secretary of State Kerry. The President and his administration have spent six and a half years labeling terrorist attacks as anything other than acts of war. But 9/11 was an act of war.

The killing of soldiers at Fort Hood was called “workplace violence” when it was clearly a terrorist act. Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told us that the September 11, 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya that killed our ambassador and three security personnel was just a bunch of militants angered by a video no one ever saw.

In Iraq—a nation now in name only—its military fled from combat with ISIS. The result has been a demonstration of the barbarity of ISIS, killing Muslims and “infidels” alike in large numbers. The videos of the beheadings of two American journalists sent the U.S. a message that dramatically altered the simmering reluctance of Americans to make war on the Islamic State. The beheading of a British citizen will no doubt echo the U.S. population’s desire for revenge and a full-scale war on ISIS.

Middle East expert, Walid Phares, says ISIS’s message is that it has concluded that neither the U.S. nor Great Britain will engage it with troops, preferring only air strikes. No military expert believes that will be sufficient to defeat ISIS.

Turkey, that shares a border with Syria, Iraq and Iran, is fearful for the lives of nearly fifty of its diplomats taken hostage in Mosul when it was captured in June. They have cause, but Turkey has been increasingly Islamic in its outlook for nearly a decade, shedding its secular approach to governance. It has refused to allow the U.S. to use bases there to fight ISIS.

In Europe, Germany said it would not take part in any airstrikes against ISIS. Other EU nations will likely follow its lead. In a similar fashion, Arab nations have not indicated any intention to actively—militarily—participate in what appears to be a “coalition” in name only.

A post by Steve Eichler, CEO of Tea Party, Inc. says it all:

“We are in the gravest of situations. Our military—once the most powerful in the world—is crumbling.

Obama is purging every branch of the US armed forces at an alarming rate.

He’s deliberately crippling our military, setting them up for failure and defeat. Through his actions he is rapidly demoralizing our troops en masse, creating a dangerous situation at home and abroad, leaving our troops, our country and we citizens open to attack.
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, recipient of the U.S. military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, as well as other top retired officers, say Obama’s agenda is decimating the morale of the U.S. ranks to the point members no longer feel prepared to fight or have the desire to win.

Our Army has not trained for six months. Meanwhile there is tremendous domestic and foreign unrest taking place. “To have the Chief of Staff of the army confess to the world that our Army has not trained for six months is highly disturbing,” says former Florida Congressman Allen West. ‘(It) should make us all sleep less soundly at night.’”

Obama has been destroying our military in every way he can and, other than air power, he has a greatly reduced infantry and other forces with which to wage a ground war in Iraq. ISIS knows this and so does the rest of the world.

Not since the end of World War II and our ascendance as a superpower has America fallen to such a loss and lack of real power both militarily and economically.

The years since Obama’s election in 2008 have been an unqualified disaster for the nation, the West, and the rest of the world. They have looked to the U.S. to lead and now see a U.S. that has twice elected a man whose entire agenda has been to abandon leadership.

To some, his actions reek of treason.

weakness is shown by the leadership of our country. even military active and retired are critical of the actions of this administration. there is confusion as to who is on our side or not. we appear to be supporting those who have or will fight against us. we free terrorists who are or will fight against us. right is wrong and wrong is right and we round around in circles while our enemies surround us. where is the leader? every winning team has a strong captain who leads the team toward victory, who has ideas and welcomes input from the other members since a captain can not do it alone, who works to make the most cohesive group that is on the same page and willing to achieve the same goal. where is this captain?

Tonight air attack operations began over Syria against selected ISIS targets. A reported coalition of aircraft from the United States, UAE, Bahrain, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia flew air strikes. We have reengaged by way of Syria and of course there will be some questions of legality since there is no declared war. We will have to wait and see about the battle damage assessments on the strikes to gauge their effectiveness. I applaud the Obama administration in getting five Sunni majority countries to enjoin this battle -- let's hope they display staying power because air will not be sufficient in and of itself.

It's quite disconcerting that Turkey is not a part of this coalition -- as well as no European nations. God bless the pilots and let us pray that we can defeat ISIS with impunity and in detail in the shortest amount of time.

this is a start but you have to wonder where the rest of the 40 coalition countries are. i see why those arab countries are doing what they are since they could be next on isis' list.

Israeli airstrikes hit near Damascus airport – Syrian state TV

Israeli airstrikes have hit targets near Damascus International Airport and in the town of Dimas near the Lebanon border, Syrian state TV reports.

"The Israeli enemy committed aggression against Syria by targeting two safe areas in Damascus province, in all of Dimas and near the Damascus International Airport," the report said, adding that there were no casualties.

The airstrikes targeted an arms depot, a source in Syrian army's Joint Staff told Sputnik news agency on Sunday. "The Israeli Air Force have conducted airstrikes on an arms depot, which caused huge blasts near the [Damascus] International Airport," the source said in a phone conversation.

Residents in the Syrian capital said they heard loud explosions.

According toLebanon's Al-Manar television, the Israeli jets bombed areas near the smaller airport at Dimas.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said that 10 explosions were heard near Dimas, Reuters reported.

The town of Dimas is located northwest of Damascus near the border with Lebanon.

A spokesman for Israel Defense Forces told Reuters he would "not relate to the foreign reports."

The Israeli Air Force has carried out several airstrikes in Syria since the beginning of the civil war there. The Israelis targeted what they claimed were sophisticated weapons systems destined for Damascus’ ally, the Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon.

    Syria's war killed 76,021 in 2014

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said 33,278 civilians were killed last year in the conflict, which started with protests in 2011 and has spiraled into a civil war.

The United Nations in August estimated the total number of people killed since the start of the conflict at 191,000 but activists say the actual figure is likely much higher.

The conflict in Syria killed 76,021 people in 2014, just under half of them civilians, a group monitoring the war said on Thursday.

    In case you missed it...

Obama would have a hard time getting the average American soldier to fire upon us during a martial law scenario....but not his Muslim brethren....or the illegal immigrant criminals he's welcomed with open arms....

Obama To Flood U.S. With Thousands Of Muslims From Syria, Every Month

According to a statement released this month by the State Dept., Obama’s decimation of our country continues as he will begin importing tens of thousands of Muslims from Syria beginning next year.

The first wave of these ‘refugees’ total about 9,000, with Obama first accepting 1,000, and eventually, of course, thousands of these ‘disadvantaged Muslims’ every single month.

But not to worry, we are assured that Muslim jihadists will be filtered out…

The State dept. will accept only Syrians that are ‘persecuted by the government’, verified by a review process. Feel better? DHS and the Obama admin, who have obliterated this nation’s borders, states they will make sure that these are real refugees, not just Muslims who hate America.

Obama obviously wants martial law and who better to use as a police force to fire on Americans than his own Islamic brethren. Our government has been infiltrated to a great degree, according to 3-star U.S. Army Lt. Gen. William Boykin, by the Muslim Brotherhood.

Of course, terrorists easily make their way through our still-open southern border, according to a Congressional report.

We even had indications that Obama was flying Muslims in this country years ago. Currently, we have no idea how many Muslim extremists are currently on American soil, ready and eager to take up arms against us…just waiting for the order to commence.

But Obama has more than just Muslims that would make loyal soldiers, which are the millions of illegals he brought here through our border, including tens of thousands of criminals, and those who he’s provided amnesty.

Obama has been firing top commanders and tens of thousands of soldiers while at the same time hiring illegals and tracking Muslims in the military for promotion.

Certainly he would want Muslims jihadists to replace the commanders who didn’t pass his litmus test, which reported to be “Would you fire on Americans if you were ordered to do so?”

We can also take comfort that they have been hand-selected by our beloved and incorruptible humanitarian organization and world government in the making, the United Nations. That’s reassuring. After all, it’s not like they were importing a real threat like global warming into the country. Then we’d have something to be concerned with. This is just knife-happy Middle Easterners who are citizens of regimes that see us as the Great Satan. What could possibly go wrong?

The State Department made the announcement Tuesday on their website. Previously we only imported our terrorist-friendly immigrants from Iraq, Somalia or the Congo. Now we will be accepting Syrians and lots of them.

The State Department announcement said, “The United States accepts the majority of all UNHCR referrals from around the world. Last year, we reached our goal of resettling nearly 70,000 refugees from nearly 70 countries. And we plan to lead in resettling Syrians as well.”

It continued, “We are reviewing some 9,000 recent UNHCR referrals from Syria. We are receiving roughly a thousand new ones each month, and we expect admissions from Syria to surge in 2015 and beyond.”

The State Department makes it clear that those individuals who are considered refugees in the Middle Eastern definition, (different from the spousal abuse definition fabricated for Central America) must be being “persecuted by their government.” Christians in Syria are being butchered by ISIS and other Muslim groups, not the government, so they don’t qualify to come to our Christian nation. Only Sunni Muslims will be eligible, the like the ones belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Qaeda or ISIS.

The dilution of our national cohesiveness and sovereignty continues unabated. This is not a drill. This is a real self-inflicted wound of balkanization which is part of the process and effort to reduce American nationalism and convert us all into nothing more than a particular location of the same world citizenry.

In that regard, nationalism will be degraded and Americans, in their new form, will be much more willing to accept a world government, having already in effect lost our sovereignty and our national identity.

Wyoming is the only state in the union which does not have a refugee resettlement program. It’s cold in the winter, but then, everything in life is a tradeoff.
