Exclamation woman tries to mail dog...

MINNEAPOLIS — A 4-month-old poodle-schnauzer mix will officially go up for adoption Friday after the dog's embattled owner failed to post a bond by a required deadline.

A city of Minneapolis news release says an in-person drawing will be held around 2 p.m. CT Friday at the Minneapolis Animal Care and Control shelter. About 10 names will be chosen and numbered off. Those selected will undergo screening, and the first name drawn and determined eligible can take the puppy home after a routine adoption procedure.

Stacey Champion, 39, the dog's owner, was charged earlier this month with two misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty after authorities say she tried to mail the dog to her son in Georgia as a birthday present.

The puppy, named Guess, was sealed tight in a priority mail box with no food, water or air holes.

Champion had until 7 p.m. Monday to post a bond to the city of Minneapolis for the dog but never showed. The dog will be available Friday at 2 p.m. for adoption. Anyone interested must be at the Minneapolis Animal Care and Control at 212 17th Ave. North in person. There will not be a waiting list.

Champion allegedly told a post office clerk that a toy robot was inside the box. When it fell off the counter, the clerk opened it and found the dog inside.

Shelter official Jeanette Wiedemeier Bower says hundreds of people from across the U.S. and the world have requested to adopt the puppy.

You have to see the video ----> http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_821256.html

I love how she states she wanted "I Wanted Suprise Him Really Really Good."
And its brilliant that she was more concerned with getting the $22 in postage refunded.

Lock her up and throw away the key!
