Fannie Mae to Pay Bonuses of up to $611,000 for Four Execs
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009...nuses-g-execs/
WASHINGTON -- Fannie Mae is planning to pay retention bonuses of as much as $611,000 each to several top executives of the government-controlled mortgage finance titan. Sibling company Freddie Mac is planning similar awards.
Fannie Mae disclosed in a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it's planning bonuses of $470,000 to $611,000 for four top executives, on top of their base salaries this year.
Freddie Mac has a similar retention plan in place, but has yet to disclose how much money top executives are in line to receive.
Both companies were seized by federal regulators last fall. Fannie has requested $15.2 billion in government aid, while Freddie has asked for nearly $31 billion in additional aid on top of the $13.8 billion it received last year.
Why Isn't the senate stopping these bonuses? Maybe its cause Barny Frank has a lover in one of them?

Why the heck is he calling for the end of the electoral college? If that was the case we'd have a Democratic leadership the majority of the the time The blue/liberal states are the highest populated and democratic majority. The electoral college gives the other states a voice.
It's funny that he's using Thomas Paine as his characterization since he is well known as a proponent of progressive liberalism.

He was venting about how both parties have really let us down. Our representatives don't really represent us anymore. If they did they wouldn't have voted in the pay raises for themselves while our country is going through an economic hard time. Both sides have let there personal greed and ambition cloud their judgement.
I also started a thread in the vent area about another you tube that was a vent. I wish we could get away from the 2 party system but when I have voted for some one else my vote went to waste.
I think we all have families that we care about and we should all realize that we do have the best country, we just need to make our voices heard.
For so many years many of my friends and family members said you can't do anything to change things but maybe we should try to make changes to make this a better country. Help your candidate run, volunteer when you can have your voice heard. We all have small voices but if we make all our voices heard they will start to listen to us.

Of course I care about my family. Just because I am a liberal does not mean I don't give an eff about my family
And we did what was best for our country..And we did make our voices heard.. We voted. And your party did not get in nor is it the majority.. Yay for us liberals!!!
End of.

We all take our own meaning from it. That thread was closed for a reason so we had better stay on topic as warned.
The subject matter in this thread pisses me off like everyone else that's posted so far.

The bonuses are the real topic of this thread but in all other cases you and I have been able to voice our point of view and still get along. Maybe that was why Thomas Paine was chosen for that video.
The protests are really on topic because we can all do something about things by letting our voices be heard.
The Fannie and Freddie mess has been going on for a long time.
It started with high risk loans and then when banks found out they could earn more on these loans they got greedy. So everyone was to blame for Freddie and Fannie. I do think we are all tired of these bailouts and seeing what is happening to our hard earned money.
I really need to point out that the bailouts aren't just a liberal or conservative problem and the problems have build up for a very long time.
Not just during the past 8 years. People need to join not as liberals or conservatives but as Americans to let our representatives know how we feel.

They shoulda never been gave any money in the first place.
Instead of saying If at first you dont succeed try try again like my momma told me. Now its If at first you dont succeed go to the goverment and youll get free money. JMO anyways.
But to stay on topic...im not surprised at all.
To see the future you must forget your past...otherwise your past will become your future
