Rush Limbaugh goes on offense against Media Matters for America
By Jeff Poor - The Daily Caller – 16 hrs
After conservative radio talker Rush Limbaugh’s remarks about Georgetown Law School student and contraception activist Sandra Fluke made him a political lightning rod, it was the liberal Media Matters for America that pressured his advertisers in a bid to force his program off the airwaves. Now Limbaugh is taking the fight back to Media Matters.
A new section of Limbaugh’s website, mediamatters.rushlimbaugh.com, is now devoted to combating the activist group. “Media Matters is a left-wing political operation created to censor conservative media through blacklisting and intimidation of advertisers,” reads the headline at the top the page.
Limbaugh had already launched Twitter accounts and added their reach to his existing radio audience in an effort to return fire against left-wing groups — particularly Media Matters — that targeted his advertisers and affiliates. Some industry observers concluded that the controversy caused only minimal damage to the talk radio king.
Brian Glicklich, a spokesman for Limbaugh, told The Daily Caller that the project was designed to be a central source of information for listeners who want to know what Media Matters is all about. “The purpose of this page is to act as a point of reference for people looking for the facts about Media Matters — which is, of course, very different than the way they describe themselves,” Glicklich said. “It will be updated frequently.”

NOW’s ‘Enough Rush’ protest in DC draws massive crowd
By Doug Powers • May 19, 2012 04:55 PM
Rush will probably refer to them as the NAGnificent Seven: http://dailycaller.com/2012/05/18/se...protest-video/
Seven women participated in the National Organization for Women’s day of protest against Rush Limbaugh in front of Limbaugh’s D.C. affiliate WMAL, Friday.
NOW’s national protest day had been in the works since April 19, when the women’s advocacy group launched their “Enough Rush” campaign.
Pairing with media watchdog Media Matters for America NOW is targeting local affiliates and local advertisers, Friday’s demonstration was touted as the group’s big demonstration of opposition to Limbaugh with affiliates across the country participating in protests.
The Daily Caller put the number of protesters at seven, but a less biased spokesperson for NOW estimated the crowd size at around 50,000.
This is just a theory, but part of NOW’s problem here could have been that they scheduled the protest during Rush’s show. As a result, many NOW members were perhaps unable to join in because they were busy intently listening to Limbaugh so they wouldn’t miss the next thing to be offended by in order to add it to the list of reasons his show needs to be taken off the air.
According to NOW, the “local community demonstrated its enthusiastic support,” but I think I got more support from my local community the last time I mowed my lawn: http://www.now.org/news/blogs/index..../rush-limbaugh
There seems to be a lot more activity over at the National Organization for Rush Babes Facebook page. http://dailycaller.com/2012/05/09/li...w-in-24-hours/ http://dailycaller.com/2012/05/09/li...w-in-24-hours/

"Countless numbers paused to give us a thumbs-up"
You sure they weren't just giving you the finger?
http://www.independentsentinel.com/2...baughs-office/
..
I think Americans in general do not like the idea of trying to silence speech, regardless of its content. If you don't like it, don't listen -- it's that simple.
BTW, how do you distinguish a car honk in support from one that is meant to show disagreement?
..
Nice job! And i assume you're also going to protest HBO for airing Bill Maher with his comments calling female politicians names of the female anatomy... Right?
..
Seven women showed up for the NOW protest against Rush. SEVEN…….and it wasn’t even raining, or anything….. they’ve had Rush in their cross hairs for two decades and SEVEN women show up!!!
..
It reminds me of the protest outside a “Rush to Excellence” tour appearance in 1989 or so that had about “three and a half people” (someone brought a young child).
..
What kind of a woman is concerned about birth control as a matter of public policy? This woman insults all women by implying they all need the government to help them with their sex lives. Pathetic.
..
Think about it. The NATIONAL Organization for Women could rally only 7 people to protest Rush. NOW got its start in the 1970′s when there were about 80 million females in the US over the age of 18. At its uppermost, there were never more than a few hundred thousand members and probably 99% lived in NYC or San Francisco. Relevance? NOW never had it, never will.

Chris Matthews goes full tingle, lauds Obama as ‘perfect American’

Chris Matthews says 'Obama Is the Perfect Father, the Perfect Husband, the Perfect American' ow.ly/cjewA
We’re not sure how much time Chris Matthews has been spending with the Obamas at home for him to claim that the president is the perfect father. At least he had the sense to stop at “American.”
[Obama's] done everything right. He’s raised his family right. He’s fought his way all the way to the top of the Harvard Law Review, in a blind test becomes head of the Review, the top editor there. Everything he’s done is clean as a whistle. He’s never not only broken any law, he’s never done anything wrong. He’s the perfect father, the perfect husband, the perfect American.
Matthews certain does get rolling now and then, and we imagine he dreams of a future in which Obama’s perfection isn’t limited by silly human constructs such as national boundaries. The perfect human being? Or is he something more than that? Stay tuned.

Matthews is such an embarrassment as a journalist, a citizen and a man. How he can even look at himself in the mirror is unfathomable!
..
"Never not only broken any law" . . . er, uh Cocaine? Pot ?
..
Uhh, Choom Gang?
..
agree, especially compared to his half-brother George, his life is like a poster for what America has to provide for people, but like so FEW other perfect husbands and fathers, etc, it stops there.
It doesn't extend beyond the superficial of his current personal life, into career or other civic activities. From the time he ruthlessly used the Chicago way to bully his way into politics, (benefitting from a much-less-than-perfect-husband Republican,) didn't even pay full price for his home, didn't even pay full price for his schooling, didn't even write his own autobiographies, didn't even fully pay attention in (his anti-american) church, but did pay attention to his commie mentors, didn't even serve a full term, voting "present",......... you know what, his lies after lies after transparent, is-a-tax-isn't-a-tax lies.... I take it back, the guy just has far more stacked in the anti-american column than can be found in anyone who's a "perfect American."
..
Chris Matthews is OZombie Prime.

Stephanopoulos: Brian Ross’s zeal to connect Tea Party to Aurora shooting a ‘mistake made in good faith’
By Doug Powers • July 27, 2012 09:31 AM
The president of ABC News and George Stephanopoulos have both given what can be best described as statements of regret regarding the so-called “mistake” made by Brian Ross that was in fact one of the most egregious examples of preconceived media malpractice in recent memory. First up, the head of ABC News: http://blogs.denverpost.com/ostrow/2...abc-news/9866/
ABC News opened its TCA press conference here Thursday with boasts of “Good Morning America” beating “Today” in recent ratings. Then came the apologies.
Ben Sherwood, president of ABC News, addressed the on-air mistake by reporter Brian Ross, in which Ross suggested the alleged shooter might be a member of the Tea Party. (Turned out it was another person by the same name.)
“It was a mistake, we recognized it immediately, owned it immediately, Brian has reached out personally to the individual in Aurora. We have learned from it as an organization. I know that moment did not live up to the standards and practices of ABC News. The news division knows how displeased I am about it.”
How displeased was Sherwood?
No disciplinary action is planned for Ross.
Now that’s displeased! It’s a good thing Sherwood didn’t go from displeased to furious, or Ross would have had his newsroom coffee privileges suspended for a day.
Wildly hypothetical question: How fast would Ross have been fired if he’d have made the same “mistake” except the person he named had been a member of, say, CAIR or GLAAD? He would have been handed a pink slip on the air before the segment ended http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=2a2qFMSDUJg and faced revocation of his Dan Rather Junior Reporter’s Club membership. But Ross wouldn’t have made that mistake, which is why it was not a mistake — at least not in the “oops” sense of the word.
George Stephanopoulos, who tossed the “has some information that might be significant” softball to Ross that night, said the network did an awesome job of calling themselves out http://blogs.denverpost.com/ostrow/2...abc-news/9866/ (but only after being mocked by Jon Stewart): http://www.mediaite.com/tv/jon-stewa...urora-shooter/
George Stephanopoulos, talking via satellite from New York with the “GMA” team, said there was no political motivation behind the mistake. “I think it was a mistake made in good faith. People are going to make mistakes in breaking news situations. The test of a good news organization is how you correct them, how transparent you are when it happens. By that test, we have succeeded.”
No political motivation? Ross probably found a couple dozen men named “James Holmes” in the area and just happened to pick the one from the Tea Party completely at random. Imagine the odds.

NBC’s Brian Williams asks Romney if it’s true he’ll pick an ‘incredibly boring white guy’ for his running mate
By Doug Powers • July 26, 2012 03:45 PM
Remember in 2008 when Brian Williams asked then candidate Obama if it was true he was considering a white gaffe-prone buffoon for a running mate? Me neither. But Williams asked Mitt Romney something similar, and Romney was ready for it: http://go.bloomberg.com/political-ca...ite-guy-brian/
Williams, the sonorous news anchor for NBC News, was reading from a script when he asked Romney, the Republican Party’s presumptive presidential nominee, if it’s true he’s seeking an “incredibly boring white guy” for a running mate.
“You told me you were not available,” Romney replied, laughing.
“Touche,” Williams said, losing the trail on that line of questioning.
Ouch. No bow for you, Mitt: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vid..._to_obama.html
