Police are seeking a motorist who pulled up to the back of a central Phoenix business Friday morning and left two toddlers by a trash bin, including a toddler wearing only a T-shirt and diaper
The unidentified driver, who was in a white sedan, was captured at about 4 a.m. by a surveillance camera of a strip club at Seventh and Virginia avenues.
The children -- a girl believed to be about 9 months old and a boy about a year-and-a-half old -- were discovered by a garbage collector about 5:30 a.m.
They were taken to a hospital and found to be in good shape, despite being out on a morning when the overnight low was 42 degrees. Phoenix police say they will turned over to state Child Protective Services.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call Phoenix police at 602-262-5151
These kids were there for an hour and a half! In the cold. In barely any clothes. In the dark. Probably dropped off by someone they trusted!

Was just coming to post this. Some people shouldn't have a pet much less a child!

Oh my! What an awful thing, I hope they find the person who did this.
My first question is where is their mother/mothers???? You know this was on the news, she had to see em or realize they are gone???
So sad.

Man if you can't take care of babies or just don't want too. Why can't they leave them in a safe place like a hospital bathroom or somewhere where they will at least be warm. This shows this person had no feelings or love at all for them. They didn't even care if they were cold and leaving them by a strip club any pervert could have taken them and did something to them. And to not even bundle them up shows no love at all. They put them by a dumpster like they were nothing but trash. How could someone do that to babies? Something gove really wrong with people I can't understand them at all anymore. Those poor babies.

That's so true. They have drop off safe houses here where you can leave unwanted children, plus you can leave them at a hospital also.

You can only drop off babies that are 48 hours old or less in most cases with no questions asked. After that many states do not allow it. You have to sign them over as wards of the state. Which is, of course way better than this.

I just heard that they have found the mother of the kids. But they still don't why they were left.

They have 2 drop-off facilities here too, you can leave a child of any age there, if you feel you or someone might hurt them etc. One of them is over by 16th St and Rosier. Don't know where the other one is.

The mother of two young children found abandoned near a trash bin in Phoenix on Friday has been identified.
Officials from the Phoenix Police Department say a caller helped them find the woman and identify the young kids.
One of the children is an 18-month-old male; the other a 9-month-old female.
Officials say a garbage truck driver found the children abandoned early in the morning behind a business. The two were up against a trash bin.
Surveillance video apparently showed a white sedan pulling to the rear of the business at 7th Street and Virginia Avenue about 4 a.m. Friday and leaving the children behind.
The children were then found at 5:30 a.m. One was wearing only a diaper and t-shirt.
Overnight temperatures in Phoenix were in the low 40s.
Hill said both are fine and are now in protective custody.
It's unclear if charges will be filed against the now identified mother.

Why wouldn't charges be brought against this person. I don't care what this mother was feeling or going through she throw her babies away by the trash.
How can a mother that carried these babies for nine months and then care for them until this point just throw them away? I think they should lock her in a garbage dumpster and throw away the key. Those poor babies were probably so cold and scared to death. I hope that this women never gets a chance to hurt them again. I also hope that they find someone to take both babies together. I wonder where the father is. It is a shame how some people are in this world today.

The earlier reports in AZ was that the driver of the vehicle was a man. It has not been reported that the Mother was the driver.
