It would be no more historically inappropriate than if you read a poem about the "Suffrage Movement" and asked the women to stand. Perhaps you could explain, why such a simple act; done by a seven year old girl, in the process of a presentation, would offend you?

she and he - negroes - she and hegro ...so miseducating the male and female (blacks) leaves you a negro on their knees to grow (to advance) ?
Play on the similar sound of knee2gro/negro.

Maybe you can answer some of my questions in your own words. Actually, I am not offended. I am actually saddened that such a young child can hold such bitterness. I am saddened because so much hate is being passed down generation to generation. Until people demand that the racism on all sides stops, it will never end and that saddens me. The child's presentation does not offend me, just the fact that a black child can stand up and do this while a white child would not be allowed the same freedom. Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black. (and for clarification, this saying is from back in the day when all pots were wrought iron...no tefal or stainless steel in sight...lol)

And no, it would not be the same. You did not have all the hate involved in the sufferage movement as we have in the civil rights arena. Women weren't hated, they just were thought to not have a brain in their head. There is a huge difference between the 2 movements and thus cannot be compared to each other.

I disagree the white/black (opposed to male/female).......does not have the same reciprocity and that is what is objectionable.

The women's suffrage movement stated out as part of abolitionist movement because black males had more freedoms than white women. Women like Elizabeth Cady Stanton worked to secure black freedoms fueling both racism and abolitionisn to insure women had rights.

Mikaer - Who do you think wrote this? Do you think there was heavy influence by her father?
(It is compelling although I still disagree and have a problem with the last line and it's delivery method.)
