I spay and neuter my pets for the same reason. I have had several - all strays that were dropped on my property because I live in a semi rural area and people just "assume" that we will take in an endless stream of animals that they no longer want. I have one now - sweet orange tabby that desperately wants to be inside - that I am trying to find a home for. I can not tell you the number of people who have called or emailed me to "blast" me for saying she will have to go to the pound ... because the Pound will most likely have to put her down. She wasn't my responsibilty ... someone who loved this cat just dropped her off because she didn't fit into their life anymore... but I have to deal with their problem. It isn't the Pound's "fault" they have to put down so many animals... it is irresponsible pet owners who choose not to spay and neuter their animals.

Anyone want a kitty ??

Dang, I'd hate to be loved like that!! If they had actually loved their kitty they would have done what I had to do to make my house dander-free. I put an ad in the paper for my three kitties and interviewed folks and then gave my kitties away. Hopefully they actually went to good homes. I mean, you don't have to dump them! (I know it's not necessarily that easy, but in most cases it could be.)
